There’s something about cherry blossom season that just feels like a fresh start.
The light is softer, the air is warmer, and everything feels like it’s waking up again after a long winter. It’s one of those short, fleeting seasons that you can’t really plan perfectly — you just have to embrace it while it’s here.
And this year… we did exactly that.
Even with a little rain mixed in, these sessions were full of laughter, connection, and those in-between moments I love most — the ones where kids are twirling, moms are soaking it all in, and no one is worried about being “perfect.”
What Cherry Blossom Sessions Actually Feel Like
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to step into one of these sessions… it’s not stiff or overly posed.
It’s:
kids running and exploring
parents pulling them in close for a quick hug
lots of movement, laughter, and real connection
I’ll guide you the whole time, but the goal is always the same — to create space for your family to just be together.
Because those are the moments that matter most later.
Why Families Love Spring Mini Sessions
Cherry blossom sessions have quickly become one of the most requested sessions each year, and it’s easy to see why:
The blooms only last a short time (which makes them feel extra special)
The soft spring blooms photograph beautifully on everyone
It’s the perfect way to update family photos without committing to a full session
But more than that… it’s the feeling.
It’s slowing down for a few minutes, being present with your kids, and walking away with images that remind you exactly what this season of life felt like.

A Little Behind the Scenes From This Year
We even got caught in a little rain… and honestly, it made the sessions even more memorable.
No one let it stop them.
Kids kept playing.
Parents kept laughing.
And those ended up being some of my favorite moments — the real, unplanned ones.
It was such a good reminder that photos don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful.
Thinking About Next Year?
Cherry blossom season in Boise typically happens in early spring, and because the bloom window is so short, these sessions always fill quickly.
If this is something you’ve been wanting to do for your family, the best way to get first access next year is to reach out here — just put “VIP LIST” in your message and I’ll make sure you’re added before sessions open to the public.
I always release dates there first before opening to the public.
