There’s something about keeping it simple
Some of the best senior sessions start with nothing more than good light, a quiet location, and space to just slow down.
We started this session out in one of my favorite outdoor spots for senior photos in Boise, surrounded by greens and that golden glow that makes everything feel calm and effortless. Her simple black dress photographed so beautifully here and kept the focus right where it should be.
The quiet moments are where the magic happens
I always guide my seniors in a way that feels natural. No pressure to pose perfectly, just small movements, leaning into the light, and letting things unfold.
That’s where these images come from. The ones that feel soft, relaxed, and completely like them.
You can have both simple and personal
After this softer part of the session, we shifted into something a little more bold and personal with her truck.
And that’s one of my favorite things to remind seniors you don’t have to choose one style. You can have the soft, natural images and also bring in something that feels like you.
It creates a gallery that feels complete and tells more of your story.
Planning your senior session
If you’re starting to think about your senior photos, it really can be simple.
You don’t need anything complicated. Simple outfits photograph beautifully, golden hour light makes all the difference, and adding something personal can make your session feel even more like you.
