One of the most beautiful parts of being a family photographer is getting to watch families grow over the years. Every once in a while, a session comes along that reminds me just how special that really is.
This family holds a particularly special place in my heart because they were part of my photography journey from the very beginning.
Years ago, when photography was still something I was learning and exploring, this sweet mama answered my very first model call. She came to my home with the cutest little toddler and her brand new baby girl, trusting me to capture those precious early days.
I never could have imagined that all these years later, I'd still have the opportunity to photograph her beautiful family.
And yet, here we are.
The tiny little girls I remember are growing up, and their family has grown right along with them.
This is what I love most about family photography.
Of course, I love beautiful light, pretty locations, and creating portraits families will proudly hang on their walls. But more than anything, I love the stories behind the photographs.
I love seeing familiar faces return, hearing what the kids are up to now, and knowing that somewhere in their homes are photographs I took years ago, preserving a completely different chapter of their lives.
It's something I never take for granted.
To this sweet family, thank you for trusting me all those years ago and for continuing to let me be a small part of your family's story. It truly means more than you know.
