One of my favorite things about family photography is watching families relax into the experience and realize it does not have to feel stressful or overly posed.

This sweet family originally reached out wanting to book a mini session because they were not sure a full hour of photos would feel enjoyable for their family, which is something I hear from parents all the time. And honestly, I completely understand.

The pressure to get everyone smiling, cooperating, and looking at the camera can make family photos feel overwhelming before the session even begins.

But sessions like this are such a beautiful reminder that family photos do not have to be perfect to be meaningful.

Some of my favorite moments from this session happened naturally. The girls laughing together, quiet cuddles between mom and dad, and all of those little in between moments truly reflected who this family is right now in this season of life.

A few hours after their session, mom sent me the sweetest message sharing how surprisingly fun the experience was for their family and how they were already talking about doing more sessions in the future. Messages like that mean so much to me because creating a relaxed and enjoyable experience is just as important to me as delivering beautiful images.

This late spring orchard session was filled with soft light, playful moments, and so much connection. The kind of memories that deserve to be held onto for years to come.

If you have been putting off family photos because you are worried about stress, uncooperative kids, or everything needing to feel perfect, you are not alone. My goal is always to create a relaxed experience where your family can simply connect and enjoy time together.
